1.Pick a nearby coastal destination or the points of interest you wish to see.

Our catamaran sailing vessel, Old Glory, typically averages around 3 knots (a "knot" is 1 nautical mile per hour, equivalent to 3.45 MPH), even when we're under power.

Her specialty is sublime relaxation, not speed. to Key West are out!

But we are happy to delight you with a cruise to Sanibel Island, down Fort Myers Beach and past the pier, or any other nearby coastal spot you'd like to visit.

The image below, from NOAA chart 11426, shows the typical range of our sailing catamaran: Wiggins Pass, roughly 12 nautical miles to the South, is normally a good four-hours (1/2 day cruise) if we average 3 knots speed; Sanibel Island to the West, only 3 nautical miles away by contrast, takes us about an hour to get to.

Referring to the navigation chart above gives you a good idea of how far we can sail in any direction within the duration of a typical 3-8 hour cruise.
